About

I'm Nikki and this blog is all about me claiming a piece of this world for myself.  I wouldn't change who I am as a person, but I tend to spend much of my time focused on others, and what time is left often goes to taking care of myself.  I don't think this is unique, but it does mean I have to put in extra effort to have fun and do fun things for myself.

In the spirit of keeping this a fun space, you can expect to find a lot of makeup (which I find the most fun) and hopefully, in the future, some home decor, recipes, motivation/advice, and fashion sprinkled throughout.

For makeup reference, I wear Estee Lauder Double Wear 5W2 Rich Caramel and MAC studio fix powder plus foundation in C7.  My skin type is dry, sensitive, and eczema-prone.

When using my swatches for guidance please keep in mind that lighting, as well as differences in monitors/phone screens/tablet screens, may alter the way a product looks.  I find that nothing looks the same in a picture as it does in person, so I encourage you to go to the store when possible and take a look at things for yourself.

Low Buy/No Buy
If you are interested in a low buy type of beauty perspective please check out my Spotlight On and Shop my Stash posts.  I've been a beauty blogger for over six years now, so I have more makeup than an average consumer.  This does mean that I have more options to choose from when I'm opting out of a new purchase, but hopefully, the thought process can help.
