I planned on doing a shade by shade breakdown for this review, but as I started putting my thoughts about each color on paper, it got very repetitive.  Overall, MAC eyeshadows are my favorite shadows.  I find most shades to be easy to blend and can build on themselves without issue.  MAC eyeshadows also work much better on the eyes than they swatch, so I think at times they get judged unfairly.
MAC Shadows have a reputation for having a dry texture.   Some shades like espresso and swiss chocolate may feel dry to the touch, but I find no issue with picking them up on a brush or blending.  Brule, brown script, and charcoal brown are on the powdery side, so you will experience some excess loose powder.  Soft brown, cork, and saddle are somewhere in between the two extremes and I find them all easy to build and blend.  I do want to point out that while brule and cork are satin finishes, I feel that they perform like matte shades.  Bronze and sable are easy to use with both fingers and a brush and they are my favorite lid colors.
Unfortunately, I just didn't like sumptuous olive on me, so I only ever used it twice, but I remember it working well.  I do find that Satin Taupe and Embark can be hard to get out of the pan, but a stiffer brush does help solve that problem.  I think these shadows will work well for anyone who prefers using brushes for both blending shades and lid colors.  If you tend to apply lid colors with your fingers you may find that woodwinked, amber lights, and satin taupe take some building.
If you'd like to build a customized palette, the MAC refill pans are $6.00 each.  If you would like each color in a compact, they retail for $16.00 at Nordstrom. What has your experience been with MAC eyeshadows?  Let me know in the comments.
