As you can see the color is a blackened purple with excellent pigmentation.  I found the color payoff to be great whether applying it my fingers or an eyeshadow brush.  The lasting power is excellent and I didn't have any creasing throughout the day.  I did use an eyeshadow primer; which was Too Faced Shadow Insurance (I use this with every eyeshadow I put on).  I did not use this as a base for any other colors, so I can't speak to how it would function as a base shadow.

I found the product to set fairly quickly, which I found made it hard to work with for me personally.  I had to go in with the a make up wipe to fix some of my mistakes.  A downside I see with this product is the size of the container opening.  I use the real techniques deluxe crease brush regularly for cream shadows, and while it worked for the smudge pot it was a tight squeeze.  Also, since the container is so small, I feel like I just won't reach for it because it gets harder and harder to actually get product out of the container.  You could use your fingers, but I personally prefer using a brush.  I think the size of the container may not be bothersome to most people, especially when considering the price point makes this a great value.  The big problem for me is that it did make my eyes feel a little bit itchy.  Keep in mind however, that my skin is extremely sensitive.

Overall I think this particular smudge pot in poppin party is a great product.  However, I won't be purchasing anymore due to the eye irritation I experienced.

You can find elf smudge pots for $3.00 at eyeslipsface.com and at select Walmart, Target, and CVS locations.  Do you own any colors?  If so, share your experience in the comments below.
