Spotlight on Purple Eyeshadows

In the March 2015 issue of Redbook Magazine, they talked about how purple eyeshadow is flattering on everyone.  It inspired me to go into my makeup drawer and pull out a purple eyeshadow.  Although, the purple eyeshadows that I have are more muted and deeper than those featured in the magazine, it was still stepping out of my normal routine.  I enjoyed the look and hope to continue to incorporate purple into my eye looks now and again.

If you've never tried a purple eyeshadow I encourage you to give it a try.  I bet you already have one that got lost at the back of your makeup drawer ages ago.  If you love purple eyeshadow but haven't rocked one in a while, this is a good opportunity to use something in your arsenal that is collecting dust.

The purple shades that I have are color #5 in the Pixi Mesmerizing Mineral Palette Plum Quartz, Avon True Color Single Shadow in Plum Burgundy, the top crease color in the NYC Individual Eyes Palette in Union Square, and the Clinique All About Eyes Single in Chocolate Covered Cherry.  When you go to shop your stash, keep in mind that there are many different hues of purple, and that your picks don't have to be in the same tonal range as mine.  If you just can't help yourself and you want to go shopping for a new purple shadow, check out the feature in Redbook for more suggestions at all price points.  Don't worry, I'm not at all affiliated with Redbook, but I didn't want to take all the credit for this inspiration for this post when I got the inspiration from them.

What purple eyeshadow are you going to incorporate into your next eye look?  Let me know in the comments section below.
