Review: Milani Moisture Matte Lipsticks

Milani Moisture Matte Lipsticks in Matte Naked and Matte Love swatched
You can click on the image for a closer look.

I didn't have much luck with the Milani Moisture Matte Lipsticks.  I purchased two colors and ended up returning both.  Regardless of how I applied it, Matte Naked applied patchy and it accentuated my lip lines.  I tried it with a Milani Lip Liner, a Milani Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatment, Smith's Strawberry Lip Balm, and MAC Prep & Prime lip; all with no luck.

Matte Love also had a patchy application, but atleast it did smooth out for me.  Matte Love also applied really well if I prepped my lips first with the Milani Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatment and wiped off the excess right before application.  The big problem for me ended up being the glitter particles in Matte Love.  Hopefully you can see what I'm talking about in the picture below.  As this shade wore off, I was left with noticeable glitter on my lips.  I personally avoid glitter in my lip products.

Obviously there are still many other colors in this line, so you may have some luck with one of the other colors.  There are also several people who experience no problems and love these lipsticks.  I'm not sure why I had so much trouble, but this product is definitely not one for me.

If you still want to look further in to this line, you can find them for $5.99 on the Milani website.
